Candidate Eligibility

Position Overview

The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking an Applications Developer 1 to support all aspects of a configured Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) FASTDS-VS application, which consists of six modules and additional subsystems.

The selected candidate will support application configuration, development, testing, debugging, and production support activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze application requirements.
  • Perform application configuration tasks.
  • Configure reference tables.
  • Set up users and access permissions for various application functions.
  • Develop application changes based on change requests.
  • Perform scripting and software debugging.
  • Manage source control activities.
  • Perform application testing.
  • Prepare implementation specifications.
  • Provide production application support.
  • Work with different software development methodologies, including traditional and Agile approaches.
  • Apply coding standards and development best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve application-related issues.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree required.
  • Preferred degree fields include:
    • Computer Science
    • Computer/Management Information Systems
    • Mathematics
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with a SQL database.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Object-Oriented development, including .NET, Java, C#, or VB.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, and coding best practices.
  • Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
