Job Description

Role: UI/UX Designer 
Client: Caterpillar
Location: Chicago, IL 60661(Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Duration: 1+ Year

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer with 8+ years of experience in UX research, UI design, user experience best practices, and prototyping. The ideal candidate will have strong experience translating user research and business requirements into intuitive, compelling user experiences and should be comfortable working in a collaborative corporate/B2B environment.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, UX, or related field.
8+ years of experience in UX Research and UI/UX Design.
Strong understanding of UI design principles, UX best practices, and graphic design fundamentals.
Strong hands-on experience with Figma, Sketch, and UX design tools.
Experience with UI layouts, specifications, wireframes, and prototypes.
Experience conducting and facilitating user research and usability testing.
Ability to translate research findings into actionable design recommendations.
Experience creating user flows, journey maps, storyboards, and other UX artifacts.
Strong portfolio demonstrating UX process, research, design, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in corporate or B2B environments.
Project management experience.
Strong data storytelling and presentation skills.
Experience working closely with product managers, researchers, developers, and downstream UI teams.
Strong ability to adapt to changing product requirements and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Translate UX research and usability testing findings into prioritized recommendations for UI design.
Understand user, customer, and business needs and convert them into effective interaction and UX concepts.
Facilitate and support user research and usability testing.
Integrate research insights into product designs and UX practices.
Collaborate with designers to define prototype requirements and iterate on designs.
Create and maintain user flows, journey maps, storyboards, and other UX deliverables.
Document key goals, themes, behaviors, and design requirements for downstream UI teams.
Develop and communicate overall UX strategy, design principles, and user experience guidelines.
Prioritize research needs and backlog based on the product roadmap.
