Skills & Experience
Essential
We're looking for a Senior Technical Architect with the ability to lead architecture across complex, business-critical environments. You will have:

Proven experience as a Senior Technical Architect delivering solutions within complex brownfield environments.

Strong expertise in designing and architecting AWS EMR-based data platforms, including data ingestion, schema evolution, ETL/ELT pipelines, and microservices integration.

Experience designing and implementing secure multi-cloud architectures across AWS and Azure, including secure data transfer patterns.

A deep understanding of architecture within government, public sector, or other highly regulated environments.

Demonstrable experience providing technical leadership, security governance, and ensuring successful operational handover to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.

Experience modernising Legacy platforms while maintaining the availability and resilience of critical production services.

Strong infrastructure, network, and security architecture skills, including VPC design, VPN connectivity, identity and access management, and technologies such as Zscaler.

Experience working within established enterprise architecture and technology standards

Hands-on experience leading technology re-architecture and migration programmes to modern, standardised platforms.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to provide technical direction and drive decision-making in complex or ambiguous environments.

Strong technical documentation skills, with experience producing high-quality architecture artefacts using Confluence and/or SharePoint.
Desirable
The following experience would be advantageous:

Experience designing event-driven architectures and implementing microservice-based data contracts.

Knowledge of Kotlin and experience planning or delivering migration to strategic languages such as Java or Python.

AWS Professional or Specialty certifications.
