We are looking for Machinist Manufacturing Operator for our client in Braintree, MA

Job Title: Machinist Manufacturing Operator

Job Location: Braintree, MA

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $18.00hr - $23.00hr

Job Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for operating various pieces of computer-controlled equipment including swiss lathes, automated parts washers, grinders, honing machinery, centerless grinders, and supporting measurement tools to machine components to established specifications. The role requires performing operations under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) while maintaining accurate quality inspection data and adherence to regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong verbal, reading, and writing skills, with the ability to understand procedural language.
  • Ability to operate in a clean room environment with full body gowning.
  • Experience with chemical handling and safety protocols.
  • Adherence to cleanroom attire policies (no jewelry, makeup, hair spray, or perfume; only wedding bands allowed).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere.
  • Comfortable working with biological materials, specifically cow hide.
  • Proficient in working with computers.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various pieces of computer-controlled equipment including swiss lathes, automated parts washers, grinders, honing machinery, centerless grinders, and supporting measurement tools to machine components to established specifications.
  • Complete dimensional and visual inspections per print specifications, including First Article inspections.
  • Perform operations as described by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Accurately record and enter required information and data into manufacturing documentation and systems, including quality inspection data and training records.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations regarding Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, as well as ISO and FDA compliance.
  • Complete all applicable training requirements.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Production, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Citizen Lathes, Haas Grinders, Sunnen Hone, Centerless Grinders, and Fanuc Robotics is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with computer-controlled equipment and precision machining is preferred.
  • Experience with inspection and functional testing of manufactured components is preferred.
  • Experience in medical product manufacturing or machining in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or regulated environment is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical and computer skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on various machine equipment.
  • Ability to perform and record measurements using dial indicators, depth micrometers, verniers, shadowgraphs, and gauges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentages, and work with decimals.

Physical Requirements(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):

  • Ability to operate in a clean room environment with full body gowning.
  • Ability to stand or walk for more than 80% of the time.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to periodically lift and move up to 25 lbs frequently.
