Senior SAP PP Consultant (Production Planning)

Location: Remote (anywhere in the US), with on-demand travel to East Coast client sites
Employment Type: Contract on W2

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior SAP PP Consultant to lead the design, configuration, and optimization of production planning and manufacturing processes for our clients. This is a remote-first role with occasional, on-demand travel to client sites on the East Coast for workshops, go-lives, and critical project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering and fit-gap workshops with business stakeholders in manufacturing, planning, and supply chain
  • Configure and customize SAP PP modules, including master data (materials, BOMs, work centers, routings, production versions)
  • Design and implement MRP, demand management, and long-term planning processes
  • Configure production order management, including order creation, release, confirmation, and settlement
  • Support discrete, repetitive, and process manufacturing scenarios (PP-PI where applicable)
  • Integrate PP with MM, SD, QM, PM, WM/EWM, and FI/CO
  • Prepare functional specifications for custom developments (RICEFW) and work with ABAP developers
  • Lead or support testing cycles (unit, integration, UAT) and resolve defects
  • Support data migration, cutover planning, and hypercare
  • Provide production support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP PP experience, with a strong command of core configuration
  • At least 2 full-lifecycle SAP implementations (ECC and/or S/4HANA)
  • Deep knowledge of MRP, capacity planning, BOMs, routings, work centers, and production order processing
  • Experience with cross-module integration (MM, SD, QM, WM, CO)
  • Strong functional specification writing skills and experience working with technical teams
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, comfortable leading workshops and presenting to stakeholders
