Job Description

Client Reporting Specialist
  • Review client-facing reporting (flash reports, quarterly statements) prior to distribution, checking for accuracy and completeness across reporting cadences
  • Validate performance measurement and attribution data supporting client reporting deliverables
  • Support the build-out and eventual implementation of the firm’s new performance reporting platform (e.g., Addepar or equivalent), including data validation and workflow design
  • Maintain reporting templates, checklists, and runbooks to standardize output across client segments
  • Coordinate with internal investment and client-service teams to ensure reporting reflects account activity accurately and on time.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate as an embedded, hands-on individual contributor within a lean, high-growth operations team
  • Maintain working proficiency across client-service, reconciliations, and reporting workflows — beyond your primary specialization — to provide backup coverage and team resilience
  • Apply deep knowledge of hedge fund and private equity mechanics — valuations, commitments, capital calls, distributions, and subscription documents — across a predominantly fund-of-funds book
  • Support a custodian-agnostic operating model spanning numerous counterparties, largely wire- and emailbased rather than automated trade feeds
  • Contribute to standardizing procedures, documentation, and training materials — including scalable onboarding workflows, data templates, and operational checklists — that support the client team’s growth toward eventually owning BAU independently
  • Partner with compliance and legal teams on account documentation and data needed for regulatory reporting relevant to client mandates
  • Use AI tools (e.g., Claude) and advanced Excel to improve the accuracy and efficiency of daily operations work

QUALIFICATIONS — REQUIRED
  • 10–15 years of experience in client or investment operations; prior experience at an OCIO is a key differentiator for this role — asset manager, custodian, or fund administrator backgrounds also considered
  • Direct experience with fund-of-funds structures and operations, including manual subscription and redemption processing in the absence of automated trade feeds
  • Direct experience with hedge fund and private equity valuations, commitment processing, and capital call / distribution mechanics and the complexities around cash management associated with private equity
  • Working knowledge of subscription documents, wire processing, and fund terms (notice periods, locks, gates)
  • Hands-on daily and month-end reconciliation experience, including unit reconciliations, exception management, and data quality across the Accounting Book of Record (ABOR) and downstream reporting
  • Familiarity with client performance reporting concepts (flash reports, quarterly statements) and reporting cadences
  • Experience with relevant systems — SimCorp Dimension, IVP, DealCloud, Canoe, or Addepar (or comparable platforms) — strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort working with AI tools (e.g., Claude) to support daily operations
  • Strong process-improvement instincts, with experience in business requirements development, operating model design, and standardizing procedures and documentation
  • High degree of ownership, accuracy, and responsiveness across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Comfort flexing across adjacent operations functions (client service, reconciliations, reporting) to support team coverage and resilience, while anchoring in one primary specialization
