Job Title:  Desktop Engineer

Location:  Greenwood, SC  (This is day 1 onsite in Greenwood, SC)

Description:

Key responsibilities

• Desk-side break-fix for IT laptops, desktops and VDI endpoints.
• Hardware triage, part swaps and OEM/warranty coordination (procurement and claims stay with CHI)
• Imaging, re-imaging and OS patching.
• Deploy standard application packages via SCCM/Intune and the standard golden image
• Mobile device enrollment and support through MDM (Intune or equivalent)
• Printer break-fix (network and label printers) and queue troubleshooting
• Asset lifecycle in the CMDB: tagging, staging, deployment, refresh and secure decommissioning with a documented chain of custody
• Onboarding and offboarding device setup.
• VIP and executive desk-side support under the VIP SOP
• VPN, connectivity and Wi-Fi first-line troubleshooting.
• Local hands-and-eyes support for Network, Server & DC and Modern Workplace towers (reseating, power-cycling, cabling checks under remote direction)
• Work every incident and request in CHI's ServiceNow, keeping work notes accurate and complete and meeting P1-P4 response and resolution SLAs
• Follow GxP change control: no change to a GxP-impacting system without an approved change record. Keep documentation ALCOA+-aligned and escalate deviations immediately
• Contribute KB articles and feed recurring issues into problem management
• Transition period: shadow the incumbent (Lonza/TCS) engineer, take reverse-KT, then move to supervised and independent ownership per the onboarding toll-gates

Required skills and experience :

• 3-5 years in desktop or desk-side support, preferably in pharma, life sciences or regulated manufacturing (rec.)
• Windows 10/11 administration, Active Directory/Entra ID basics, M365
• client troubleshooting (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
• SCCM/MECM and/or Intune: imaging, deployment, patching
• MDM enrolment and support (iOS/Android)
• ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM) incident and request handling under ITIL
• Working knowledge of GxP, GMP and data-integrity expectations. Must complete CHI GxP induction before system access is granted

Preferred :

• CompTIA A+, Microsoft MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), ITIL 4 Foundation (rec.)
• Local language skills: Japanese (Sagamihara), Dutch/French (Bornem); English is mandatory (rec.)
• Able to pass site security clearance and work on a manufacturing floor, including PPE and gowning where required
