Job Description – Senior Adobe SME – Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Adobe SME – Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) to support a large-scale MarTech transformation program for a leading retail client. The role requires deep hands-on expertise in Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Experience Platform, customer journey orchestration, personalization, campaign migration, and real-time customer engagement.

The SME will work closely with Marketing, CRM, Data Engineering, Architecture, Analytics, and Campaign Operations teams to design scalable AJO solutions and drive successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
Adobe Journey Optimizer

• Lead architecture, design, configuration, and implementation of Adobe Journey Optimizer.
• Design complex batch, scheduled, triggered, and real-time customer journeys.
• Configure journeys, audiences, conditions, actions, offers, decisioning, frequency rules, and suppression logic.
• Build and optimize Email, SMS, Push, In-App, and other omnichannel communication journeys.
• Define reusable journey patterns, templates, campaign frameworks, and implementation standards.

Adobe Experience Platform

• Strong understanding of AEP XDM schemas, datasets, profiles, identity namespaces, identity graph, segmentation, and Real-Time Customer Profile.
• Integrate AJO with AEP, RT-CDP, CJA, Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, and external enterprise systems.
• Support streaming and batch ingestion, APIs, event schemas, and activation workflows.
• Understand consent, governance, privacy, PII handling, and data usage policies.

Campaign Migration & Operations

• Lead migration of campaigns from legacy platforms such as Oracle Responsys, Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar platforms into AJO.
• Define campaign archetypes and migration strategies for promotional, triggered, lifecycle, transactional, and behavioral communications.
• Perform functional validation, journey testing, audience validation, reconciliation, and production readiness reviews.
• Troubleshoot delivery, audience, orchestration, and integration issues.

Qualifications :

• 10+ years of MarTech experience, with strong Adobe Experience Cloud expertise.
• 4+ years of hands-on AJO/AEP experience preferred.
• Expert knowledge of AJO, AEP, RT-CDP, segmentation, identity, and journey orchestration.
• Experience with SQL, APIs, JSON, event-driven integrations, and cloud data platforms.
• Retail, ecommerce, loyalty, CRM, or high-volume consumer marketing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong stakeholder communication and ability to mentor AJO developers and campaign teams.
