Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Construction, the Construction Superintendent oversees all on-site operations for commercial construction projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, medical facilities, warehouses, and mixed-use developments. The Superintendent is responsible for supervising all field activities, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
· Supervise all on-site construction activities and personnel.
· Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, materials, and inspections.
· Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with OSHA and local building codes.
· Monitor project timelines and budgets, reporting progress and issues to the project manager.
· Interpret and implement construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
· Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards.
· Resolve field issues promptly to minimize delays.
· Maintain detailed daily logs and documentation of project activities.
· Conduct and lead on-site meetings with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
· Ensure proper maintenance and security of the job site and equipment.
· Five (5) plus years of experience in construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
· Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
· OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain.
· Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, including a drug screening, background check, and reference check.
· Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
