Job Description

Management Accountant, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract - London

Purpose of Role

The Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting and analysis to support effective decision-making across London & Partners.


This role will focus on core management accounting activities while supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner with financial insight and business planning where required. The role is suited to a newly qualified accountant who is pragmatic, efficient, and a strong team player.

Key Tasks

Management Accounts & Reporting


Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including:

  • Income & expenditure statements
  • Balance sheet (statement of financial position)
  • Clear supporting commentary
  • Maintain and post accrual entries
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for relevant areas of responsibility
  • Produce monthly reports for budget holders and senior management


Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the preparation of annual budgets, including consolidation of directorate submissions
  • Support in maintaining and updating forecasts throughout the year.


Stakeholder Support

  • Act as a key contact for budget holders, providing clear financial information and guidance


Financial Control & Compliance

  • Contribute to maintaining strong financial controls and adherence to procedures
  • Support procurement processes to ensure compliance
  • Assist in ensuring transactions are accurately recorded


Statutory Accounts & Audit


Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, including:

  • Supporting schedules
  • Working papers
  • Selected disclosures


Continuous Improvement & Systems

  • Support the improvement of financial reporting, forecasting and analysis processes
  • Assist with system improvements and reporting enhancements
  • Provide training and guidance to budget holders where required


Other

  • Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and analysis
  • Support wider finance team priorities as required

Youll have/bring

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience working in a medium or large organisation
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with finance systems
