Job Description

Systems Accountant (Interim)

Edinburgh City Centre | Hybrid Working Competitive Daily Rate Initial 3-Month Contract

Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Edinburgh-based organisation to recruit an experienced Systems Accountant for an immediate 3-month assignment.

This role will play a key part in supporting and optimising the organisation's Sage Intacct environment, working closely with finance and operational teams to improve reporting, streamline processes, and maximise system functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the finance lead for Sage Intacct system support and optimisation.
  • Review existing finance processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
  • Develop and enhance reporting capabilities within Sage Intacct.
  • Support month-end, management reporting, and financial controls from a systems perspective.
  • Assist with system configuration, testing, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with stakeholders across finance and the wider business to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide user training and support to maximise system utilisation.
  • Deliver process documentation and best practice guidance.

About You

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified by Experience.
  • Proven experience working as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, or Finance Transformation professional.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of finance processes including month-end close, reporting, controls, and reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and quickly add value within a short-term project environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
