Technical Product Owner

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner who will define the product vision, priorities, and roadmap for research-collaboration tools and platforms. This role translates business and research needs into actionable technical requirements, user stories, and delivery plans while partnering with DevSecOps engineering, platform architects, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise platform priorities.

The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership and technical analysis skills with working knowledge of source control, technical authoring, and file-collaboration platforms to assess feasibility, evaluate integration options, and support informed technology decisions.

Position Responsibilities

·        Product Strategy and Requirements: Define product vision, priorities, and roadmaps; translate stakeholder needs into technical specifications and user stories; and maintain traceability from business requirements through delivery.

·        Technical and Platform Evaluation: Assess platform capabilities, integration options, scalability, performance, and technical constraints in collaboration with engineering teams and architects.

·        Technology Decision Support: Evaluate technical tradeoffs and recommend feasible solutions for research-collaboration tools, integrations, and external collaborator access.

·        Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and DevSecOps engineering and platform teams, communicating priorities, technical constraints, risks, and timelines clearly.

·        Roadmap and Delivery Management: Prioritize features based on business value and technical feasibility, align the roadmap with enterprise platform priorities, and adapt plans as business needs and technologies evolve.

·        Documentation and Governance: Maintain requirements documentation, decision logs, meeting minutes, and process documentation; support planning and prioritization with program leadership.

Key Deliverables:

• Product vision, prioritized roadmap, and traceable technical specifications.
• Feasibility assessments and integration recommendations developed with business analysts, economists, engineers, and platform architects.
• Decision logs, meeting minutes, and supporting product workstream documentation.

Position Requirements

·        10+ years of experience in product ownership, technical business analysis, or a related role, preferably in platform, developer tooling, or collaboration environments.

·        Proven experience defining product vision, managing roadmaps, and translating business needs into technical requirements and user stories.

·        Experience collaborating with business analysts, senior leaders, engineers, and architects to assess feasibility and inform technology decisions.

·        Working knowledge of source-control and developer-collaboration platforms (e.g., GitHub), technical authoring and research-collaboration platforms (e.g., Overleaf), and file-sharing or collaboration platforms.

·        Ability to evaluate integration approaches, platform capabilities, technical tradeoffs, scalability, and performance considerations.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

·        Strong organizational, prioritization, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

·        Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor) preferred.

·        Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
