Job Description




SC Cleared Storage Engineer


Location: Remote with potential travel to Telford as required
Duration: 6 Months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £550 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to undergo the SC vetting process

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Storage Engineer to join a Storage team responsible for the delivery of Managed Service and Project activities across Live, Development and Test environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a range of enterprise storage technologies while contributing to migration and transformation projects. The role will involve both BAU support and project delivery, including occasional out-of-hours work where required.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for enterprise storage environments.
  • Support storage devices across Live, Development and Test platforms.
  • Deliver change, project, migration and transformation activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related incidents.
  • Work within established incident and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure service availability and project delivery.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5-10 years' experience implementing, migrating to/from and supporting storage devices within enterprise environments.
  • Good knowledge of file and block storage technologies.
  • Good knowledge of Dell EMC storage devices and Unisphere.
  • Good knowledge of Brocade SAN Switches and SanNav.
  • Good knowledge of NetApp and Hewlett Packard storage devices.
  • Experience using and supporting Veritas NetBackup.
  • General knowledge of HBA configuration and multipathing technologies.
  • Experience working with server operating systems including:
    • Windows
    • Linux (RHEL & SLES)
    • AIX
    • Solaris
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability.
  • Proactive approach to workload management.
  • Awareness of the ITIL Service Management framework, particularly Incident and Change Management.
