Business Analyst

Plains is seeking a Business Analyst to support data-driven decisions across our midstream energy operations. In this role, you will analyze operational, financial, and commercial data to optimize pipeline and terminal performance, safety, and reliability. You will build reports, dashboards, and KPIs, translate business needs into requirements, and partner with operations, commercial, finance, and IT teams. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and SQL/Excel skills with an understanding of energy or industrial environments and a commitment to Plains' safety-first, integrity-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational, financial, and commercial data to support decisions on pipeline and terminal assets
• Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor performance, safety, and reliability
• Translate business needs into clear analytical requirements and data specifications
• Collaborate with operations, commercial, finance, and IT teams on improvement initiatives
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize throughput, costs, and service levels
• Document processes and recommendations and present findings to stakeholders
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling for midstream projects
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with regulatory and compliance standards
