Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and people-focused
HR Manager to lead and oversee all human resources functions. The HR Manager will serve as a strategic partner to leadership and store management while ensuring effective talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and HR operations across the organization.
The ideal candidate has
7–10 years of progressive HR experience
, preferably within retail, consumer services, or another high-volume, multi-location environment. This position requires strong knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. employment practices, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance employee needs with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals and business needs. Partner with senior leadership and retail management on workforce planning, organizational development, and employee relations. Establish and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide guidance and coaching to managers on people-management matters. Recruitment & Talent Management
Lead recruiting efforts for corporate, management, and retail-level positions. Develop effective sourcing strategies to attract and retain qualified talent.

Oversee interviewing, selection, onboarding, and orientation processes. Develop succession planning and career-development initiatives. Monitor staffing levels and turnover and recommend strategies to improve retention. Employee Relations
Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding workplace concerns. Manage employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture. Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.

Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure HR practices comply with applicable
Puerto Rico and U.S. federal employment laws and regulations
. Maintain accurate personnel records and confidential employee information. Partner with management and external advisors when necessary on employment-law and compliance matters. Monitor compliance related to wage and hour requirements, leave, workplace policies, accommodations, and other applicable employment requirements. Stay current on changes to Puerto Rico and federal employment regulations and communicate relevant updates to leadership.

Performance Management
Manage and improve the company's performance-management process. Support managers with performance evaluations, goal setting, coaching, and corrective action. Identify performance and development opportunities across the organization. Compensation & Benefits
Partner with leadership and payroll/benefits providers on compensation and benefits administration. Support salary reviews, incentive programs, and employee benefits initiatives. Monitor market and internal compensation practices to support retention and competitiveness.

Training & Development
Identify organizational training needs and coordinate employee-development programs. Provide or facilitate training for managers on leadership, employee relations, policies, compliance, and performance management. Promote ongoing professional development throughout the organization. HR Operations
Oversee HR systems, processes, and documentation. Maintain accurate employee records and HR reports. Track and analyze HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, staffing levels, and retention. Support payroll and timekeeping processes as needed.

Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive employee information. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
.
7–10 years of progressive HR experience
, preferably in retail or another high-volume, customer-facing environment. Experience supporting hourly employees and multiple locations is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Puerto Rico and U.S. federal employment practices. Bilingual
English and Spanish preferred or required depending on business needs.

Strong employee-relations and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, recruiting, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace tools. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and interact effectively with employees at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
Previous experience managing HR for multiple retail locations.
Experience with high-volume recruiting and hourly workforce management.
Experience implementing HR policies, systems, or organizational changes.
Experience working with HRIS and workforce-management platforms.
