Contract Duration: 18 Months
Location: United States – Frequent Travel Required

Position Overview
Archon Resources is seeking an experienced SAP Business Analyst to support a large-scale, enterprise-wide SAP implementation for a leading utilities organization operating across multiple states.
This 18-month contract opportunity is suited to a professional who thrives in complex enterprise environments and works closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and implementation partners.
The SAP Business Analyst will translate business requirements into SAP solutions, support process improvements, coordinate testing, and help ensure successful implementation and adoption across multiple business locations. Frequent travel to Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Maine is required.
Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Partner with business leaders, operational teams, and IT stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement through SAP functionality.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process-mapping sessions.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for SAP implementation teams.
  • Identify gaps between existing business processes and proposed SAP solutions.

SAP Implementation Support

  • Support SAP implementation activities across multiple business units and geographic locations.
  • Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, technical teams, system integrators, and project managers.
  • Assist with system configuration validation, integration requirements, and business process alignment.
  • Support data migration planning, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential impacts to business operations.

Testing & Deployment

  • Develop and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) plans, scenarios, and test cases.
  • Work with stakeholders to validate SAP functionality against business requirements.
  • Document system defects and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Support cutover planning, deployment readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Assist with training, process documentation, and change management activities.

Utilities Industry Collaboration

  • Work closely with utility operations, finance, accounting, procurement, supply chain, and other business functions.
  • Understand operational requirements associated with a geographically distributed utilities organization.
  • Ensure SAP processes align with enterprise operational needs, regulatory considerations, and business objectives.
  • Coordinate requirements and implementation activities across multiple locations.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise ERP or SAP environments.
  • Direct experience participating in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation.
  • Strong understanding of SAP business processes, functional requirements, and system integrations.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and working directly with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience with process mapping, gap analysis, requirements documentation, and UAT.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on complex, multi-location enterprise projects.
  • Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Maine.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or migrations.
  • Prior experience in utilities, energy, power generation, or regulated infrastructure industries.
  • Experience with SAP Finance (FI/CO), Materials Management (MM), Plant Maintenance (PM), Procurement, or related modules.
  • Familiarity with utility-specific business processes, including asset management, maintenance operations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working alongside major SAP implementation partners or systems integrators.
  • Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management and enterprise transformation initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on SAP Business Analyst who has successfully supported large ERP implementations and can bridge business operations and technical delivery teams. This individual should be comfortable interacting with senior leadership, facilitating discussions with operational stakeholders, resolving complex business requirements, and supporting deployment activities across multiple states. Utilities experience is strongly preferred.
