Overview

• This role requires a balanced blend of backend and frontend development expertise, with a primary focus on building scalable, high-performing applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, React, and Next.js.
• The ideal candidate will have experience developing enterprise-grade applications, designing distributed systems, and building modern customer-facing web experiences. This individual will work closely with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the member experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
• Build event-driven solutions leveraging Apache Kafka for real-time processing and integrations.
• Develop and enhance responsive web applications using React and Next.js.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs to support frontend and backend services.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in application architecture, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Develop reusable components and services following engineering best practices.
• Support testing, deployment, and production troubleshooting activities.
• Work independently in an Agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Full Stack software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience with:
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • Microservices Architecture
  • REST APIs
  • Apache Kafka
• Strong frontend development experience with:
  • React
  • Next.js
  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
• Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale applications.
• Understanding of API integrations and distributed systems.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to ramp up quickly and work independently after onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail or eCommerce industry experience.
• Experience with Node.js and GraphQL.
• React Native experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting high-traffic, customer-facing applications.
