Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Robotics Instructor role located in Buckhurst Hill. The Robotics Instructor will lead small groups of children in building, programming, and testing robots using VEX IQ and VEX V5 platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, delivering interactive STEM and robotics lessons, demonstrating concepts in a clear and engaging manner, and supervising hands-on activities to ensure safety and learning. The instructor will support students as they troubleshoot designs, foster teamwork and communication, and provide constructive feedback. Additional tasks include maintaining equipment, recording attendance and progress, and collaborating with the program coordinators to refine curriculum and activities.


Qualifications

  • Strong robotics skills, with practical experience using VEX IQ and VEX V5 systems.
  • Solid STEM knowledge and the ability to explain science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts to children.
  • Programming skills relevant to educational robotics platforms (e.g., block-based or text-based coding).
  • Effective communication and training skills, with experience teaching or mentoring young learners.
  • Previous experience working with children in educational or extracurricular settings.
  • Availability to work part-time during after-school hours, weekends, or school holidays as needed.
