Job Description:

Position Summary

An experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Developer to support a high-volume marketing communications environment. This consultant will spend the majority of their time working within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), building, testing, and deploying email campaigns and supporting the data, journeys, automations, and dynamic content required to execute those campaigns.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience combined with solid HTML/CSS, SQL, and AMPscript skills. This individual should be comfortable working independently within SFMC and providing guidance and expertise to a team that is looking to strengthen its Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities.

This is an estimated 9-Month to 1-Year consulting engagement with an immediate need.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, test, and deploy email campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Create and maintain email templates using designs developed in Stencil and import/export HTML and CSS between Stencil and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Troubleshoot and modify HTML/CSS as needed to ensure emails render correctly across devices and email clients.
• Develop and maintain Data Extensions, subscriber data, audience lists, and campaign data within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Build and support Journey Builder journeys and Automation Studio workflows.
• Write and maintain SQL queries used for segmentation, audience selection, data manipulation, and campaign execution.
• Develop personalized and dynamic email content using AMPscript.
• Configure campaigns using imported distribution lists as well as data delivered directly through integrated data sources.
• Perform cross-client and cross-device email testing using Litmus.
• Support email deliverability and inbox-placement testing using Validity/Everest.
• Troubleshoot campaign, data, rendering, automation, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud issues.
• Work closely with Marketing Managers, Project Management, designers, and communications leadership to translate approved campaign designs and requirements into production-ready email campaigns.
• Provide Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise and recommendations to help improve campaign development and delivery practices.

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying production email campaigns within SFMC.
• Experience with:
• Email Studio
• Journey Builder
• Automation Studio
• Data Extensions
• Audience and subscriber management
• Dynamic and personalized email content

Intermediate to advanced HTML and CSS skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and correct email rendering issues.

Intermediate to advanced SQL skills.

Hands-on experience with AMPscript for dynamic content and personalization.

Experience testing email campaigns using Litmus or a comparable email-testing platform.

Understanding of email deliverability, inbox placement, and related email marketing best practices.

Ability to work independently and serve as a knowledgeable Salesforce Marketing Cloud resource within the team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Stencil or similar email design/template development tools.
• Experience with Validity/Everest for deliverability and inbox-placement analysis.
• Experience supporting large-scale or high-volume marketing and communications programs.
• Ability to work effectively with Marketing, Creative/Design, Project Management, and technical teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and consultative skills.
