Job Title: Network Architect

Location: Brandon, FL (On-site)

Duration: 12 Months with Possible Extension

Looking for GC/USC candidate who can work on W2 only

Position Overview

The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and governing enterprise network architecture to align with business objectives, technology strategies, and security requirements. This role provides strategic direction, technical leadership, and architectural oversight for network initiatives, including LAN/WAN, cloud networking, and network security controls such as proxies, network segmentation, Network Access Control (NAC), and Access Control Lists (ACLs).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Network Design and Architecture

• Design and implement network solutions, including routing and switching, on-premises LAN/WAN, IP Address Management (IPAM), Wi-Fi, ISP management, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Design and manage forward and reverse proxies, wireless networks, load balancing, DNS, network automation, and hyperconverged infrastructure.

• Develop scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures that meet business and technical requirements.

Network Security Management

• Implement and maintain network security controls, including Network Access Control (NAC), network segmentation, and intrusion detection systems.

• Design secure network architectures incorporating DMZs and zero-trust security principles.

• Support security initiatives across cloud, on-premises, and operational technology environments.

Project Architecture and Implementation

• Architect and design network components for the Advanced Distribution Infrastructure (ADI) program.

• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful network design and implementation.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining technical standards and project priorities.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure network architecture and operations comply with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Apply relevant security frameworks and standards, including PCI DSS, NERC CIP, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, and NIST SP 800-82.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.

• Experience designing and implementing network security solutions.

• Experience in critical infrastructure environments, preferably within the electrical utility or energy sector.

• Knowledge of network segmentation, DMZ architecture, and zero-trust security models.

• Understanding of applicable compliance standards and cybersecurity frameworks.

• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
