Location: United States – Frequent Travel Required

Position Overview

Archon Resources is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead delivery of a large-scale, enterprise-wide SAP implementation for a utilities organization operating across multiple states. This 18-month contract assignment requires strong project governance, hands-on execution, and the ability to coordinate business, IT, and implementation partner teams.
The SAP Project Manager will own integrated planning, schedule and budget oversight, risk management, executive reporting, testing and cutover coordination, and successful deployment across geographically dispersed operations. Frequent onsite travel to Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Maine is required.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Governance

  • Lead end-to-end SAP implementation planning and execution, including scope, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and maintain the integrated project plan, resource plan, RAID log, decision log, and executive status reporting.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, vendor commitments, change requests, and escalation processes.
  • Facilitate steering committee updates, workstream meetings, and cross-functional decision-making.

SAP Implementation & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate SAP functional, technical, data, integration, infrastructure, security, and business workstreams.
  • Partner with system integrators, internal IT, business owners, and third-party vendors to ensure delivery accountability.
  • Oversee fit-to-standard workshops, design signoffs, build milestones, and integration readiness.
  • Apply structured SAP implementation methodologies, preferably SAP Activate, to manage phase gates and deliverables.

Testing, Cutover & Go-Live

  • Drive readiness for system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and business signoff.
  • Coordinate data migration, cutover rehearsals, go/no-go criteria, deployment, and hypercare activities.
  • Partner with change management and training leads to support business adoption and operational continuity.
  • Track post-go-live stabilization issues and transition deliverables to support teams.

Multi-State Utilities Stakeholder Management

  • Work with leaders across utility operations, finance, procurement, supply chain, asset management, and IT.
  • Coordinate site-level requirements, rollout sequencing, and readiness across Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Maine.
  • Proactively manage operational, regulatory, safety, and service-continuity considerations relevant to utility environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of enterprise IT/ERP project management experience, including substantial SAP implementation leadership.
  • Experience managing at least one full-cycle SAP implementation or major transformation.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional programs, third-party integrators, budgets, schedules, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP delivery phases, integrations, testing, data migration, cutover, and deployment governance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Maine.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA implementation or conversion experience.
  • Prior utilities, energy, power, or regulated infrastructure industry experience.
  • SAP Activate experience; PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with SAP FI/CO, MM, PM/EAM, procurement, and enterprise integration workstreams.
  • Experience leading multi-site rollouts and organizational change management.

A hands-on delivery leader who can manage an enterprise SAP implementation from planning through stabilization, communicate clearly with executives and frontline stakeholders, hold partners accountable, and navigate competing priorities across multiple states.
