Mainframe Operator

The role will function as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events. The candidate will monitor IBM Mainframe and IT infrastructure, perform initial incident triage, create and escalate tickets, monitor system availability, and coordinate with IT teams, customers, and vendors.

Required Skills:

• Experience with IBM Mainframe operations/monitoring.
• Strong understanding of IT operations and incident management.
• Experience creating, triaging, escalating, and tracking IT incidents.
• Experience monitoring infrastructure connectivity, assets, and services.
• Experience monitoring mainframe control consoles.
• Ability to review/validate JCL (Job Control Language).
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• 5+ years of Microsoft Teams experience.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as:
  • What's Up Gold
  • Pingdom
  • PRTG

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents.
• Quickly create, escalate, triage, and track technology-related incidents.
• Monitor infrastructure availability and connectivity.
• Monitor IBM Mainframe control consoles.
• Periodically check system performance.
• Assist with JCL review and validation.
• Communicate and coordinate with IT staff, customers, and vendors.
• Use graphical monitoring systems to track infrastructure, assets, and services.
• Perform deliveries and other operational duties as assigned.

Important Physical & Schedule Requirements:

• Onsite work is mandatory.
• There is no work-from-home option.
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Candidate may be required to work:
  • Day shifts
  • Afternoon shifts
  • Midnight/overnight shifts
  • Holidays
