Job Description

SAP EWM Consultant

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement the SAP S/4HANA EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) module, including implementation, roll-out, and post-implementation support.
  • Manage SAP EWM configurations and support warehouse management for a high-end electro-automotive environment.
  • Work on S/4HANA EWM implementations covering Logistics Execution, inbound, outbound, internal warehouse processes, production material staging, and physical inventory.
  • Support integration of SAP S/4HANA EWM with Transportation Management (TM), FI, Controlling, and other modules, with a strong understanding of master data requirements.
  • Work with automatic inbound and outbound processing, including ASN and EDI.
  • Design high-throughput, low-latency interfaces combining synchronous REST/OData APIs with asynchronous IDocs and Queued Remote Function Calls (qRFC) for resilient, decoupled inventory and transaction updates.
  • Modernize legacy warehouse processes using advanced SAP EWM concepts, including synchronous goods movement postings and Blackbox integration with automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS).
  • Configure end-to-end SAP EWM-TMS integration using Advanced Shipping and Receiving (ASR), unifying inbound and outbound freight logistics with real-time warehouse execution.
  • Gather requirements and prepare functional specification documents (FSD), technical functional specification documents (TSD), and functional specifications for SAP custom developments.
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data migration, user training, and implementation roll-outs. Prepare UAT scripts and support system cutover.
  • Configure Goods Receipt with Put-away, picking, packaging, put-away/interleaving, transfer postings, physical inventory, bin-to-bin stock movements, replenishment, cycle counts, batching/wave planning, consolidation, slotting and rearrangement, mobile data entry integration, and label printing.
  • Architect, design, and implement complex EWM configuration solutions and integrations with MM, SD, PP, QM, and TM. Lead the team toward defect-free delivery at the end of SIT and UAT.
  • Handle custom enhancements based on business-specific processes.
  • Apply business best practices as technology and business requirements change.
  • Prepare process documentation and user training materials, and communicate clearly with business and technical teams.
Skills and Competencies Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • More than 5 years of functional consulting experience in SAP EWM; EWM 9.0 or higher is desirable.
  • Experience with 1 2 full-cycle implementations, from blueprint through post-implementation support, including roll-outs.
  • Direct experience designing and implementing SAP S/4HANA EWM, with hands-on configuration and production support experience.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse operations.
  • Strong understanding of EWM master data and integration with other SAP modules.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Batch Management, Handling Unit Management, and Service Management.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, functional and technical functional specifications, testing, data migration, and user training.
  • Experience integrating with 3PLs, MES, and ATTP through Web Services, IDocs, or PI/PO is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies, and project management.
  • Self-driven approach with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP configuration experience in one or more additional modules.
  • Experience in WMS consulting projects.
  • Strong experience in scoping, requirements gathering, solution design, and build.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; multilingual proficiency is preferred.
  • Full life-cycle experience across multiple SAP projects, enhancements, roll-outs, and implementations.
  • Strong techno-functional skills and the ability to work well within a team.
