Technical Business Analyst - Medical Imagery RIS/HL7/DICOM

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support medical imaging integration and transformation, with a strong focus on PACS, RIS, DICOM and HL7.

The role will work closely with radiology, clinical, technical, integration and supplier teams to understand existing imaging workflows, define requirements and support the design and delivery of reliable imaging integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and document end-to-end PACS/RIS and radiology workflows.
• Gather and translate clinical and technical requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
• Define integration requirements across RIS, PACS, imaging modalities, VNA, viewers and integration engines.
• Analyse DICOM workflows including Modality Worklist (MWL), C-STORE, query/retrieve, MPPS and Storage Commitment.
• Support HL7 interfaces covering patient demographics, imaging orders, updates and radiology results.
• Produce interface specifications, data mappings, workflow diagrams and AE Title/IP/port matrices.
• Review supplier DICOM Conformance Statements and interface specifications.
• Define requirements for patient/study reconciliation, accession numbers, Study UIDs, patient merges and exception handling.
• Document PACS/RIS status mappings, monitoring, error handling, resilience and downtime requirements.
• Support integration testing, UAT, cutover, migration and operational readiness.
• Work with technical teams and vendors to investigate and resolve interface and imaging workflow issues.

Essential Experience

• Strong Technical BA experience within healthcare or medical imaging, with practical knowledge of:
• PACS | RIS | DICOM | HL7 | Modality Worklist | Imaging Modalities | Integration Engines
• You should understand the imaging lifecycle:
• RIS ? MWL ? Modality ? DICOM ? PACS ? Viewer/VNA
• Experience with DICOMweb, VNA, IHE profiles, MPPS, Storage Commitment, interface engines, imaging migration or PACS/RIS replacement programmes would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will combine strong requirements and stakeholder-management skills with sufficient technical understanding to work effectively between radiology users, infrastructure/integration teams and PACS/RIS vendors.
