Job Description
We are seeking a senior-level Data Developer (Power BI) with 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience, including deep hands-on expertise with Power BI, Snowflake, and investment management data. This role will design, develop, and support scalable analytical solutions used across investment, risk, performance, and operational functions.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building enterprise-grade Power BI solutions, developing complex DAX and SQL queries, optimizing semantic models, and working with large financial datasets in Snowflake. The candidate must have direct experience supporting asset management or institutional investment organizations and a strong understanding of core investment data, including portfolios, positions, transactions, securities, benchmarks, exposures, and performance.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Background
  • 7+ years of experience developing enterprise business intelligence or analytical solutions.
  • 5+ years of advanced hands-on Power BI experience in production environments.
  • Expert-level experience with Power BI semantic modeling, DAX, performance optimization, security, refresh strategies, and Power BI Service.
  • Expert-level SQL skills and significant hands-on Snowflake experience supporting analytical workloads.
  • Strong experience with dimensional modeling, including fact tables, dimensions, hierarchies, and slowly changing dimensions.
  • Direct experience in asset management, investment management, institutional investment, or closely related financial services industries.
  • Strong understanding of investment data, including portfolios, positions, transactions, securities, benchmarks, exposures, performance, and risk.
  • Experience working directly with portfolio managers, analysts, risk professionals, performance teams, or investment operations staff.
  • Experience developing reporting solutions using large, complex, and performance-sensitive financial datasets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and investment audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated testing, reconciliation, data quality, source control, and CI/CD practices.
  • PL-300 Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification.
  • CFA, CAIA, or other investment-industry designations.
