Design pieces with personality. See your ideas become collections.

A distinctive print. An unexpected colour combination. A piece of furniture that makes a room. If you love designing homeware with something to say and know how to take an idea through to a finished product, we’d love to see your work.

The opportunity

Rockett St George is recruiting a Senior Designer & Product Manager – Homeware to lead the creative and product development of our homeware collections for a major retail partner.

Working closely with our Directors, you will translate the Rockett St George brand vision into distinctive, commercially successful collections across textiles, hard goods, lighting, furniture and upholstery.

You will be the main design and product contact for our retail partner, leading collections from initial concept through development to launch. You will work closely with their buying, design and technical teams, supported by the Rockett St George Designer.

Whilst homeware collections for our main retail partnership are the primary responsibility, the role may also contribute to selected Rockett St George own-brand products, collaborations and other categories where design support is needed.

Why this role?

You’ll have the opportunity to shape whole collections, working directly with the Directors and seeing your ideas develop from the first mood board to products in customers’ homes.

The breadth of categories offers room to explore your creativity across colour, pattern, materials and form. Alongside the design work, you’ll have a clear voice in presentations, product decisions and the commercial thinking behind each collection.

What you’ll do

  • Create inspiring mood boards, colour stories, product concepts and seasonal presentations.
  • Develop original product ideas, CADs, prints, patterns, graphics and product detailing.
  • Own the day-to-day management of homeware collections for our retail partner from concept through to launch.
  • Manage the collection critical path and ensure key deadlines are achieved.
  • Review samples and prototypes, providing clear creative direction, comments and approvals.
  • Lead seasonal presentations, development meetings and collection sign offs.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Merchandising Manager and Directors to understand sales, margin, customer insight and product performance.
  • Support the Directors with new licensing and sub-licensing opportunities and, where appropriate, take the lead on selected partnerships, managing the creative and product direction from initial concept through to launch and ensuring all licensed products remain true to the Rockett St George brand.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for an experienced Homeware designer who combines a strong creative eye with excellent product management and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Strong experience designing and developing Home and interiors products.
  • Experience across several Home categories, ideally including textiles, hard goods, lighting, furniture and/or upholstery.
  • Excellent understanding of colour, print, pattern, materials and finishes.
  • Strong CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
  • Experience developing products from initial concept through sampling to final approval.
  • Strong organisational and critical-path management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of sales, margin and customer insight.
  • Confidence presenting collections and working collaboratively with buying, design and technical teams.
  • A strong instinct for the Rockett St George aesthetic and the creativity to help evolve it.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is both a strong designer and an excellent product manager, someone who can generate exciting ideas, communicate a clear creative vision and take ownership of turning those ideas into successful collections.
