Job Description

Position:  Embedded Firmware Engineer
Location:  Raleigh, NC (Onsite)
Contract: 12+ months
 
Job description:
Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer with a strong focus on DSP or microcontrollers for Power Electronics and Battery Management System (BMS) products. Responsible for the development, implementation, and validation of embedded software / firmware for power conversion and battery management systems. Role involves DSP or microcontrollers programming, testing, troubleshooting, and driving the adoption of model-based techniques throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
 
Key Functions:
• DSP or microcontrollers Programming: Develop and implement firmware for power electronics and battery management system products
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform testing and debugging of firmware, utilizing various debugging tools, simulators, and hardware-in-the-loop setups.
• Model-Based Design: Utilization and adoption of model-based design methodologies, including simulation, modeling, and automatic code generation to enhance the NPI process.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware engineers, system engineers, and other cross-functional teams to design and deliver integrated solutions for power electronics and BMS applications.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, test plans, and DVT reports.
 
Minimum Education/Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in the development of embedded firmware for embedded systems
* Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in DSP or microcontrollers programming 
* Experience with C or C++ coding for DSP or microcontrollers.
* Knowledge of real-time operating systems.
