Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive enterprise storage migration experience to lead a large-scale data center migration program. The project is currently in the pilot and discovery phase, with potential to expand into a multi-phase, multi-year migration program.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing complex infrastructure migration projects, coordinating technical teams and customer stakeholders, and driving project planning, reporting, risk management, and migration event execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale enterprise storage migration projects.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, RAID logs/charts, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and status reports.

  • Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and action items.

  • Coordinate migration activities across multiple data center locations.

  • Manage migration events and ensure appropriate pre- and post-migration activities are completed.

  • Coordinate discovery, planning, migration scheduling, and execution activities with technical teams and customer stakeholders.

  • Track migration progress, capacity utilization, milestones, and monthly migration targets.

  • Coordinate pre- and post-migration performance analysis and reporting.

  • Coordinate array health checks before and after migration activities.

  • Track and report migration events, activities, deliverables, and outstanding issues.

  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder communications.

  • Ensure project activities remain aligned with agreed scope, schedule, and dependencies.

  • Coordinate activities across hybrid onshore/offshore teams.

  • Travel to multiple customer locations as required.

Project Scope

  • Migration of approximately 3.3 PB of allocated storage, with approximately 1.6 PB currently consumed.

  • Approximately 477 hosts across 6 sites.

  • Approximately 14 source storage arrays.

  • Two months of discovery and detailed migration planning.

  • Up to 2 migration weeks per month, with up to 18 migration events.

  • Target migration capacity of up to 300 TB per month.

  • Pre- and post-migration performance analysis.

  • Migration event management and coordination.

  • Pre- and post-migration task tracking and reporting.

  • Array health checks before and after migration.

  • Migration to target enterprise storage arrays, with additional arrays available to support capacity planning.

  • Up to 10% of in-scope hosts may have production replication that will need to be recreated as part of the migration.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Project Management experience, preferably within enterprise infrastructure or data center environments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale storage or data center migration projects.

  • Strong understanding of storage migration concepts, replication, and enterprise storage environments.

  • Experience managing complex migration programs involving multiple sites, hosts, arrays, and migration events.

  • Strong project management fundamentals, including:

    • Project planning

    • RAID management

    • Risk and issue management

    • Dependency tracking

    • Milestone management

    • Burn-down reporting

    • Status reporting

    • Stakeholder management

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams, customer stakeholders, and distributed teams.

  • Willingness to travel to multiple customer locations as required.

Additional Information

  • Customer scheduling and Change Management activities will be handled by the customer.

  • Host/server administration activities are the customer's responsibility.

  • SAN fabric migration is outside the scope of this engagement.

  • The project will be delivered through a hybrid team.

  • Travel and expenses are included for eligible onshore resources.
