Job Description

A self-directed Systems Administrator who can own complex operational tasks end-to-end; someone who understands federal mission needs and can translate them into secure, reliable hosting and platform operations; a collaborator who communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders; and a professional committed to governance, security, and operational excellence. In this role, you will administer and sustain a secure, self-hosted ServiceNow environment and its supporting infrastructure across AWS, Windows, and Linux/CentOS systems. Responsibilities include: ServiceNow Platform Operations & Hosting Install, configure, and maintain self-hosted ServiceNow platform components across Windows and Linux/CentOS systems in AWS.
Support the ITSM suite, including Incident, Request, and operational workflows.
Monitor platform performance, optimize system resources, and maintain platform governance and policy compliance.
Manage ServiceNow application servers, mid-tier components, database connections, and integrations within a multi-network environment.
Maintain upgrade readiness, apply patches, and support controlled deployments in classified environments.
AWS Cloud Systems Administration Provide Tier II support for AWS-hosted systems, including provisioning, resource management, and software installation.
Deploy, integrate, and maintain cloud hosting environments supporting multi network operations.
Use automation techniques to streamline provisioning, configuration, and sustainment activities.
Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues, including storage, replication, and network connectivity.
Windows & Linux/CentOS Administration Deploy, harden, and maintain Windows and CentOS machine images.
Apply STIGs, security baselines, and compliance controls across all systems.
Create, test, and maintain deployment and support procedures for OS and ServiceNow components.
Perform patching, updates, break/fix troubleshooting, and system recovery.
Operational Support & Troubleshooting Provide senior-level support to Tier II engineers and escalate to Tier III when required.
Resolve complex incidents related to hosting, storage, replication, and multi-network operations.
Support on-call rotations for mission-critical operations and emergencies.
Maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
Agile/Scrum Participation Work as an active member of the SNOE Scrum team.
Manage backlog items, participate in sprint ceremonies, and deliver iterative improvements.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Hands-on experience administering AWS-hosted ServiceNow instances, including performance tuning, optimization, and platform governance.
Strong experience with Windows and Linux/CentOS systems administration.
Experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud-hosted applications in secure environments.
Experience applying STIGs, RMF controls, and DoD/IC security requirements.
Strong troubleshooting skills across storage, replication, networking, and multi-network hosting environments.
Experience supporting classified or air gapped environments.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Required Certifications:
DoD 8570 IAT II (e.g., Security+)
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
Linux or AIX Systems Administration I & II
