Role Summary
A senior-level Facets Architect position focusing on the modernization of Medicare claims processing systems through cloud-native solutions. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and optimization of Facets platform deployments on Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring high performance, security, and regulatory compliance. The architect will collaborate with stakeholders, guide technical teams, and apply best practices in cloud architecture and healthcare IT to support high-volume Medicare operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of Facets platform environments on AWS, including compute, storage, and networking components.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform for automated environment provisioning.
- Create scalable, highly available solutions supporting Medicare claims processing, ensuring compliance with CMS standards, HIPAA, and FedRAMP.
- Configure and optimize Facets modules, including Claims Adjudication, Membership/Enrollment, Provider Network Management, and Benefits.
- Design integration workflows for EDI transactions (X12 837, 835, 834), leveraging AWS services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, and Kinesis.
- Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps best practices, containerization (Docker/EKS), and automated testing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to translate regulatory requirements into system architecture.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on healthcare IT best practices, cloud solutions, and Facets platform capabilities.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and security measures utilizing AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty to ensure operational integrity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 10 years with a Master’s degree.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Facets platform configuration, implementation, and administration in claims and benefits modules.
- Over 5 years of experience designing and deploying solutions on AWS, including EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Terraform, and IAM.
- Strong expertise in Oracle RDBMS, including performance tuning, stored procedures, and database architecture for healthcare applications.
- Proven experience with healthcare claims processing systems and standards (X12, HL7, FHIR).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipeline development, and containerization technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule, FedRAMP, and CMS security requirements for cloud-hosted health systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives within Agile/SCRUM environments, preferably within SAFe frameworks.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch and Splunk.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) certification.
Publishing Pay Range: $55.00 - $59.00 Hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
