Project Manager (onsite interview only local to Nebraska candidate)

Job Summary

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating complex IT/software development projects from initiation through completion. The role will manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, resources, stakeholders, and deliverables while ensuring projects align with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong client management, leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with hands-on experience managing Agile software development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, business requirements, risk assessments, and project documentation.
• Lead Agile/Scrum project teams and manage software development activities.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps product backlogs, user stories, and tasks.
• Coordinate stakeholder meetings and manage client expectations.
• Monitor project progress, budget, scope, risks, quality, and timelines.
• Identify project issues, constraints, and dependencies and drive timely resolution.
• Perform gap analysis, process-flow analysis, and requirements analysis.
• Develop requirement specifications, business cases, functional specifications, and process models.
• Coordinate QA/QC activities and support testing when required.
• Manage change control, communication, risk mitigation, and quality processes.
• Lead project closeout activities, including lessons learned and customer feedback.
• Work closely with developers, business users, vendors, senior management, and other stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Project Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing Agile software development projects.
• Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies, including PMI practices.
• Experience as an IT Project Manager or ERP Project Manager.
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, including product backlogs, user stories, and tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent client-facing, leadership, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to lead project teams without direct authority.
• Strong organizational, analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work onsite and remotely as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management certification such as PMP/PMI.
• Experience working with Department of Transportation, Highway Safety, Traffic Safety, or Financial systems.
• Experience working with developers and end users.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with CICS, COBOL, and DB2 z/OS legacy systems.
• Knowledge of Web Services and Windows Services.
• Understanding of C#.NET/MVC, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and XML environments.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
