Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced MES Engineer to design, develop, implement, integrate, and support Manufacturing Execution Systems used to monitor and control production processes. The role involves working closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, IT, and automation teams to improve production visibility, traceability, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, develop, implement, and maintain MES applications.
- Gather manufacturing requirements and translate them into MES functional and technical specifications.
- Develop production workflows, electronic batch/production records, work instructions, and shop-floor transactions.
- Integrate MES with ERP, SCADA, PLC, Historian, LIMS, WMS, and other plant systems.
- Support production tracking, genealogy, traceability, downtime, OEE, quality, and inventory processes.
- Develop and maintain MES interfaces using APIs, web services, databases, and middleware.
- Troubleshoot MES application, database, integration, and shop-floor issues.
- Work with SQL databases for queries, stored procedures, reports, and data validation.
- Participate in MES implementation, testing, deployment, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare functional specifications, technical documents, test cases, and user documentation.
- Support FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, UAT, and production go-live activities where applicable.
- Collaborate with automation engineers for PLC/SCADA and equipment connectivity.
- Provide production support and root-cause analysis for MES incidents.
- Follow change-control, validation, cybersecurity, and software development standards.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of MES concepts and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with one or more MES platforms such as Solumina, Rockwell FTPC, Apriso, etc, or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with system integration and APIs such as REST/SOAP, OPC UA/DA, MQTT, etc.
- Understanding of ERP–MES–SCADA–PLC architecture.
- Knowledge of production tracking, genealogy, material management, quality, OEE, and traceability.
- Experience with troubleshooting and production support.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills
