Job Description

Job Title: DevSecOps Engineer
Location: Reston, VA/Washington, D.C. area (Onsite – 3 days/week)
Duration: long term contract

Job Description:
We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to build and operate secure software delivery pipelines using AWS-native technologies. The role focuses on CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, security automation, shift-left security practices, compliance automation, and AI-assisted DevSecOps tooling across the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
  • Integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, and policy-as-code into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate compliance evidence and controls supporting FedRAMP and NIST requirements.
  • Automate environment provisioning and deployments, including blue/green and canary deployments.
  • Implement AI-assisted tools for security scanning, testing, and pipeline development.
  • Monitor pipeline health and continuously improve deployment and delivery metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Strong experience with AWS CDK and/or CloudFormation.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with security automation and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certification in DevOps or Security.
  • Experience with FedRAMP and/or NIST compliance.
