At L&Q, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to evolve and deliver our strategic priorities, we're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support leaders across the business and help create a positive, high-performing workplace where colleagues can thrive.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with managers and senior stakeholders, providing expert HR advice and partnering with the business to develop people capability, manage change, and drive organisational performance. You'll play a key role in delivering people-focused solutions that support our colleagues while ensuring we continue to provide excellent services to residents.
At L&Q, our purpose is to provide homes and services that people can be proud of. If you're a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, influencing outcomes, and supporting organisational success, we'd love to hear from you.
Your Impact in the Role:
As an HR Business Partner, you'll work in partnership with leaders and managers to deliver effective people solutions that support business objectives and drive performance. You will report into a Senior HR Business Partner, supporting a dedicated area of the business and you will need to own actions/projects whilst appropriately escalating. In this role, you will:
  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers across the business on a wide range of people matters.
  • Partner with leaders to build people capability and support the delivery of strategic goals and priorities.
  • Analyse HR data and performance information and use insight to support business decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Manage organisational change activity, including restructures, consultations and TUPE transfers, ensuring legal compliance and positive colleague experiences.
  • Support the implementation of the HR Plan, delivering key people initiatives and projects within agreed timescales.
  • Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders across the business to deliver a customer-focused and commercially effective HR service.
  • Work collaboratively with HR colleagues, including Recruitment and HR Advisory teams, to provide joined-up people support.
  • Keep up to date with employment legislation and HR best practice, using your expertise to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • May, from time to time, be an escalation point to lead and support complex employee relations casework, helping managers navigate challenging situations with confidence.
By enabling managers and teams to perform at their best, you'll help create a culture where colleagues can succeed and residents receive excellent services.
What You'll Bring:
We're looking for a skilled HR professional who can balance operational delivery with strategic thinking while building trusted relationships across the organisation. You'll have:
  • Significant experience operating in an HR Business Partner role within a large, complex, multi-site organisation.
  • A proven track record of partnering with managers to improve performance, capability, and employee engagement.
  • Experience leading large and complex organisational change initiatives, including consultation processes and TUPE transfers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide challenge and support at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Extremely comfortable working with HR data and performance information, analysing and using insight to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach and experience working closely with wider HR teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • CIPD qualification Level 5/7 or equivalent professional HR accreditation.
  • Strong experience managing high-volume and complex employee relations casework
