Head Veterinary Nurse (Full-Time) | Greencross Vets GP + Urgent Care Noosa | Noosaville, Sunshine Coast 🐾

Ready to take the next step in your nursing career and help lead a team that's redefining the way veterinary care is delivered?

Greencross Vets GP + Urgent Care Noosa is looking for an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to join our growing team in a full-time leadership role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring and developing others, and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of our unique GP + Urgent Care model.

Our purpose-built hospital bridges the gap between General Practice and Emergency, providing same-day care for pets requiring prompt assessment, investigation, treatment, or stabilisation. No two days are quite the same, and as Head Nurse, you'll be right at the centre of it all.

We see a broad range of presentations including:

  • Lameness and mobility concerns
  • General unwellness
  • Toxicities
  • Urgent medical presentations
  • Patients requiring stabilisation and ongoing monitoring

You'll work within a purpose-built hospital equipped with:

Most importantly, you'll be supported by an experienced veterinary and nursing team who genuinely enjoy working together.

As our Head Veterinary Nurse, you'll balance hands-on nursing with leadership responsibilities, helping to create a positive, efficient, and supportive hospital environment.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting nurses across both GP and Urgent Care services
  • Coordinating daily workflow and patient care
  • Assisting with triage and urgent patient assessments

  • Ensuring protocols and procedures are followed consistently

Team Leadership

  • Mentoring and coaching veterinary nurses
  • Supporting nurse training, onboarding, and development
  • Helping foster a positive and collaborative culture

  • Working closely with the Hospital Manager and Veterinary Leadership Team
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and patient outcomes
  • Helping build and shape the future direction of the nursing team

Clinical Nursing Duties

  • Anaesthetic monitoring
  • Hospital and inpatient care
  • Diagnostic sample collection and processing
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Assisting with procedures and diagnostics
  • Client communication and education
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient hospital environment

Why You'll Love This Role

This is far more than a traditional nursing position.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead an experienced and capable nursing team
  • Be actively involved in shaping hospital processes and culture
  • Work across both General Practice and Urgent Care services
  • Develop your leadership and management skills
  • Continue utilising your clinical nursing skills every day
  • Work with a diverse and interesting caseload
  • Enjoy genuine work-life balance with no overnight shifts
  • Make a meaningful difference for patients when they need care most

About You
