Job Description

Position Summary
  • The Assistant Director, Assurance Marketing Activation Lead, is accountable for end-to-end delivery governance for initiatives supported by the Assurance Marketing Activation Team (AMAT). The role oversees campaigns, thought leadership, events and webinars, sponsorships, and client pages from intake through execution and measurement, translating Assurance’s external growth priorities into coordinated, high-quality marketing outcomes.
  • Role independently manages a portfolio of complex, externally facing initiatives and directs the day-to-day work of two offshore AMAT teammates responsible for execution and activation. The individual balances priorities and capacity, addresses delivery risks, exercises judgment in ambiguous situations, and influences senior stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes on time.
Career Level Expectations
At the Assistant Director level, the individual is expected to:
  • Independently manage and prioritize a portfolio of moderate to highly complex, externally facing Assurance marketing initiatives with a high degree of visibility
  • Operate with significant autonomy while aligning closely to Assurance Brand & Marketing leadership priorities
  • Influence senior stakeholders and initiative owners (Assurance leaders, BMC leadership, creative/digital teams, external agencies) to drive accountability and outcomes
  • Anticipate delivery risk across the portfolio and course-correct before issues escalate
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of Assurance external marketing delivery standards and operating rhythm
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on initiative health, readiness, team capacity, and delivery tradeoffs
Essential Functions of the Job
Initiative Delivery Governance
  • Owns delivery governance for a portfolio of concurrent, externally facing Assurance marketing initiatives, establishing delivery plans, timelines, scope, and success criteria
  • Partners with Assurance and Marketing leadership on initiative intake and prioritization; proactively identifies delivery risks, resourcing constraints and misalignment across workstreams, driving mitigation or escalation
  • Reports initiative outcomes, lessons learned, and performance insights to Assurance and BMC leadership
Team Direction & Marketing Activation Oversight
  • Directs the daily work of two offshore Assurance Marketing Activation (AMAT) teammates responsible for executing marketing tactics
  • Assigns and balances workload across the two-person offshore team to match initiative priorities, deadlines, and business impact
  • Provides clear direction, context, resources and access needed for successful execution while partnering with offshore leadership on formal people-management responsibilities
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and marketing effectiveness through automation and process improvement
Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with Assurance leaders, subject matter resources, and BMC stakeholders
  • Effectively communicates initiative status, risks, recommendations, and business impact to audiences ranging from teammates to senior leadership
  • Exercises independent judgment in managing moderately to highly complex initiatives, resolving delivery challenges, and escalating material risks and tradeoffs to leadership
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, campaign, or initiative/project management, ideally within professional services, consulting, financial services, or another matrixed organization, including experience directing the work of others
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, externally facing marketing initiatives — campaigns, thought leadership, events, and sponsorships — from planning through activation
  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority; this role holds accountability for outcomes it does not directly control, requiring high emotional intelligence, strong relationships, and the credibility to hold people to commitments respectfully and effectively
  • Proven track record of directing the work of others (including offshore or remote teammates) while keeping complex, cross-functional initiatives on track across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Exceptional organizational skills, able to hold the thread across multiple concurrent initiatives and a small team without losing sight of what matters most to leadership
  • Collaboration, Influence and Growth Mindset
  • Builds trusted relationships and promotes teamwork across diverse, global, and virtual stakeholder groups, including offshore teammates
  • Communicates complex concepts clearly and influences outcomes without direct authority
  • Uses data, insights, and new ways of working to inform decisions and enhance outcomes

Delivery Excellence
  • Manages multiple priorities effectively across a team and a portfolio of initiatives
  • Balances quality, speed, and risk considerations
  • Drives accountability and execution discipline, both personally and within the team
  • Maintains focus on measurable outcomes
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
