QA Engineer (Mobile Applications)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce's client is seeking a QA Analyst to join a growing Quality Assurance team supporting critical retail technology platforms. This role focuses heavily on manual testing for point-of-sale (POS) systems and customer-facing mobile applications.

Summary

This position begins as a contract role with the potential to convert to a full-time permanent employee based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute detailed manual test cases and test plans for retail technology platforms
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across web, mobile, and POS applications
• Analyze business requirements and workflows to identify testing scenarios, edge cases, and potential risks
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and operational stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Coordinate testing efforts with distributed QA teams and participate in defect triage and resolution activities
• Document, track, and verify software defects through resolution
• Support application releases and testing cycles, including participation during critical deployment periods when additional effort may be required
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the expansion of test automation practices over time

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience creating and executing manual test cases in a professional software testing environment
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile or similar software development environments
• Ability to work onsite five days per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing POS systems
• Experience testing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)
• Exposure to test automation tools and frameworks
• Experience supporting retail, eCommerce, or customer-facing technology platforms
• Experience collaborating with distributed or offshore teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
