Test Automation Engineer - Entry Level

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in software testing, programming, and automation frameworks and will work closely with software developers, QA engineers, and product teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career candidate to gain hands-on experience developing automated tests for enterprise applications and supporting modern software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
• Create automated tests for web and application functionality.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
• Analyze test results and document defects.
• Work with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot application issues.
• Create and maintain test cases and test documentation.
• Participate in test planning and requirement reviews.
• Validate application functionality against business requirements.
• Support API and database testing.
• Execute automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines.
• Track defects and testing activities using enterprise tools.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and product teams.
• Continuously improve test coverage and automation processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in software testing, QA, or test automation.
• Knowledge of software testing fundamentals.
• Programming experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Understanding of automated testing concepts.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.

• Selenium WebDriver.
• Cypress or Playwright.
• REST API testing.
• Postman.
• JUnit or TestNG.
• Maven or Gradle.
• Git/GitHub.
• Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Experience with browser automation.

Key Responsibilities by Testing Area

UI Automation

• Develop automated test cases for web applications.
• Validate user workflows and application functionality.
• Maintain reusable automation components.

API Testing

• Test REST APIs.
• Validate request/response data.
• Verify API status codes and business logic.

Database Testing

• Write SQL queries to validate application data.
• Verify data integrity between application and database layers.

Regression Testing

• Execute automated regression suites.
• Identify failures and investigate root causes.
• Maintain test suites as applications evolve.

CI/CD

• Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Review automated test execution results.
• Communicate failures to development teams.
