Position Summary

A leading organization is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead enterprise-level PeopleSoft HCM initiatives with a focus on Workforce Administration and compensation-related processes. This role is responsible for managing full project lifecycle delivery, including planning, execution, deployment, stabilization, and closure, while coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery from initiation through deployment and closure
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource allocations
  • Facilitate governance activities including steering committees, status reporting, and executive updates
  • Manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and decision tracking
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, design reviews, testing, deployment readiness, and cutover planning
  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Technical, Security, Integration, and business teams
  • Ensure alignment with business goals and delivery of high-quality project outcomes
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, communication, and issue resolution
  • Oversee vendor performance and ensure accountability for deliverables

Required Qualifications

  • 8 10+ years of project management experience leading enterprise application initiatives
  • 5+ years managing PeopleSoft HCM projects in large, complex organizations
  • Proven experience with Workforce Administration (WFA) implementations or enhancements
  • Strong experience working with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated success in managing requirements, design, testing, deployment, and change management
  • Strong skills in executive communication, governance, risk management, and issue resolution
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, vendors, dependencies, and resources
  • Ability to lead complex initiatives, manage risks, and drive successful project delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Master s degree preferred
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certification preferred
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Mass Compensation or compensation-related initiatives
  • Knowledge of Job Data, Compensation, Position Management, and effective-dated transactions
  • Experience supporting payroll-impacting releases and integrations
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 in large enterprise environments
  • Background in higher education, public sector, healthcare, or unionized workforce environments
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM Workforce Administration processes and functionality
  • Understanding of HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, and Position Management workflows
  • Knowledge of payroll-impacting transactions and downstream system impacts
  • Familiarity with SDLC, project governance, testing, deployment, and change management
  • Excellent project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting skills
  • Strong risk, issue, dependency, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills across executive and technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to drive accountability, alignment, and successful delivery outcomes
