About the Shop

This independent shop in Upper Arlington is looking for an experienced Diagnostic Automotive Technician who enjoys solving electrical, drivability, and complex mechanical problems. Technicians typically flag approximately 40 hours per week and work Monday–Friday, with no weekends.

The heated and air-conditioned, 5-bay shop services Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. You’ll have Autel and Snap-on diagnostic equipment, plus support from a General Manager, Service Advisor, and Quality Technician to help keep work moving.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose electrical, drivability, and complex mechanical concerns.
• Perform major repairs, including engine and transmission replacement, timing chains, and head gaskets.
• Complete digital vehicle inspections and document repair findings, labor times, and parts needs.
• Mentor developing technicians.

What You’ll Need

• At least 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, drivability, and complex repair skills.
• Experience with the major repairs listed above and the ability to mentor other technicians.
• Residence within 30 miles of the shop.

ASE certifications, previous Lead or Diagnostic Technician experience, and Tekmetric or DVI experience are preferred. DVI training is available.

Pay & Benefits

• $30–$55 per flagged hour, with technicians typically flagging approximately 40 hours per week.
