Job Description

Quality Compliance Officer

Thetford area, Norfolk
Full time, permanent, day shift only

This is a hands-on role sitting within the Quality and Regulatory Compliance team, reporting into the Quality Manager.
You ll be the go-to person for compliance across the operation, making sure every product can be followed from the moment raw materials arrive to the point finished goods leave the site, and that the paperwork behind it all stands up to scrutiny.

What the job involves

  • Keeping compliance records and documentation current and in line with BRCGS and customer technical standards
  • Getting the site ready for visits from certification bodies, customers and regulators, and being on hand during audits to provide the evidence and records auditors ask for
  • Building and managing traceability systems that cover every stage of the product journey, including production, packaging, storage and dispatch
  • Running a programme of internal audits to check procedures are being followed and regulations met
  • Spotting compliance gaps, raising them with the right people and helping get to the bottom of what went wrong and how to fix it
  • Partnering with procurement, production, QA and logistics so compliance is built into how each team works
  • Championing good documentation practice across the whole business
  • Playing an active part in shaping and improving the Quality Management System

What you ll bring

  • A background in compliance, quality or regulatory work within FMCG or manufacturing
  • Practical experience of preparing a site for audits or regulatory inspections
  • A good grasp of how traceability works in a manufacturing environment and the documentation that supports it
  • Confidence with Excel, ERP systems and document management software
  • A methodical, organised approach, sharp attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with people at every level

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience of BRCGS or a comparable quality standard
  • Exposure to packaging compliance or sustainability reporting
  • A relevant qualification such as Lead Auditor or GMP certification
