QA Lead

Position: QA Lead
Experience: 9–11 Years
Engagement: Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
Rate: $50/hr on C2C or 1099

Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements grooming meetings, identify gaps, and clarify requirements before development begins.
• Estimate testing effort for upcoming projects and releases.
• Maintain a strong understanding of application functionality and serve as a QA resource for the testing team.
• Develop test plans and test executions for each release and assign work across the QA team.
• Maintain and update test cases as application features evolve.
• Personally handle complex and high-risk testing scenarios.
• Coordinate with project managers and developers on cross-functional features.
• Create and maintain test cases that support the automation team's efforts.

This role involves approximately 50% QA leadership and 50% hands-on testing.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience leading a manual QA team through complete release cycles.
• Strong test planning, estimation, and requirements review skills.
• Experience with Jira and Xray or similar test management tools.
• Comfortable using AI tools to write and maintain test cases.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with project managers and developers.
• Web application testing experience; e-commerce experience is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with test automation tools such as Playwright and TypeScript. Automation experience is a plus but not mandatory.
