Pattern Maintainer

Hiring Opportunity: Delaware, OH Our client is an American Cast Iron Foundry carrying a long history of producing high-quality gray and ductile iron castings. They boast only a 2.5% turnover rate. The Pattern Maintainer will be in charge of creating and maintaining wooden patterns used in the metal casting process.

Basic Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair wood molds.
• Inspect patterns and molds to identify defects and wear.
• Perform repairs on broken or damaged patterns, templates, or molds.
• Smooth surfaces of molds using tools like scrapers or sandpaper.
• Ensure proper dimensional allowances are made to account for factors like metal contraction during cooling.

Qualifications

• Background in woodworking or carpentry.
• Knowledge of and ability to use power tools.
• Past pattern making experience preferred.
• Understanding of foundry/metal pouring process.
