Senior AWS Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS services, cloud-native application development, DevOps practices, and modern software engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based applications using AWS services.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain applications using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, CloudFront, and CloudWatch.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
• Implement serverless and event-driven architectures where appropriate.
• Develop infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Implement cloud security, IAM policies, encryption, networking, monitoring, and compliance best practices.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and AWS infrastructure costs.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Conduct code reviews and establish coding, testing, and deployment standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical leadership.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of software development experience with significant hands-on AWS experience.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Python, Node.js, .NET, or similar languages.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services and cloud architecture.
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/Amazon EKS.
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, VPC, security groups, networking, and cloud security.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Experience with Git and modern source-control practices.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, testing, and deployment practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
• Experience with event-driven systems using SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.
• Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, X-Ray, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of high-availability, disaster-recovery, and multi-region architectures.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
