Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing public accounting firm. The ideal candidate will possess experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation, financial statement preparation, payroll, and client advisory services. This individual will work directly with business and individual clients, providing exceptional service while helping them maintain accurate financial records, comply with tax regulations, and identify opportunities for tax planning and business improvement.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships. Bookkeeping & Accounting
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping services for a variety of clients. Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and general ledger accounts. Maintain complete and accurate financial records. Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.

Assist clients with accounting software setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Review bookkeeping work for accuracy and compliance with firm standards. Tax Preparation & Compliance
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
Partnerships (Form 1065)
Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules. Research tax issues and document conclusions. Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance requirements. Assist with tax notices and correspondence from taxing authorities.

Tax Consulting & Advisory Services
Identify tax planning opportunities for individual and business clients. Assist in developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance. Participate in tax projections and estimated tax planning. Conduct tax research and communicate findings to management and clients. Support business consulting engagements related to accounting, tax, and operational matters. Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients. Explain financial and tax matters in a clear and understandable manner.

Meet with clients to discuss financial performance, tax planning strategies, and business concerns. Assist in identifying additional service opportunities to better serve client needs. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong experience in bookkeeping, payroll, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation. Knowledge of federal and state tax laws affecting individuals and businesses. Proficiency with accounting and tax software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

CPA designation or CPA candidate. Minimum of 3+ years of accounting and tax experience
, preferably in public accounting. Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. Experience with tax software. Technical accounting expertise
