Job description

The Role

Step into the role of Property and Leasing Assistant.

Discover an exciting opportunity to take on an integral role here at Joules Head Office, supporting our Property team across our nationwide retail estate.

Working Pattern

This is a part time position based at The Barn, Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The working pattern for this role is 22.5 hours per week across 3 days, and this is an onsite role.

Our Location

Market Harborough in Leicestershire is where Joules began in 1989. This vibrant market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars, and restaurants. It also benefits from great transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike. It is the perfect place to mix a rewarding career with plenty of well-dressed time off.

What You’ll Do

Here at Joules, our retail stores are at the very heart of how we connect with our customers. The Property team looks after our entire retail estate, making sure our locations remain safe, operational, and beautifully compliant. Working closely with landlords, agents, solicitors, and internal teams, you will provide vital support across our lease administration and estate projects.

You will be responsible for:

  • Looking after our estate: Support the day-to-day management of our retail property portfolio to keep every site safe, compliant, and running smoothly

  • Managing approvals and access: Coordinate landlord consents, licences for alterations, and property access requests

  • Keeping administration tidy: Assist with service charge administration, property documentation, and business rates

  • Supporting store projects: Assist the Property Manager with store acquisitions, due diligence, legal documentation, relocations, lease renewals, and surrenders

  • Tracking key dates: Maintain accurate lease records and databases, ensuring critical dates like rent reviews and break clauses are monitored proactively

  • Connecting with stakeholders: Build brilliant working relationships with landlords, managing agents, solicitors, and surveyors, as well as our internal Finance, Retail Operations, and NEXT Estates teams

  • Organising team communications: Facilitate key departmental meetings and handle everyday enquiries promptly and professionally

What You’ll Bring

To really shine in this role, you will bring a great mix of commercial awareness, sharp organisation, and a genuine appreciation for getting the details right. You are naturally proactive, enjoy keeping accurate records, and thrive when coordinating information between internal teams and external property partners. Whether you are tracking critical lease dates or managing day-to-day property enquiries, you take pride in clear communication and administrative excellence.

We would also love to see:

  • Prior experience or background in commercial property, retail estate management, leasing, or facilities support

  • An understanding of commercial leases, landlord and tenant practices, or managing lease databases

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to build great relationships with diverse stakeholders

  • Good commercial awareness with a high level of discretion and accuracy when handling confidential details

  • Confidence with everyday IT systems, particularly across Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, and Slides)

Your Application

Due to the high volume of applications received for our roles, please note that applications not accompanied by a relevant cover letter are unlikely to be progressed. If you are applying for a creative role, please include a portfolio in your application.

Sponsorship

In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would not, therefore, be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.

We encourage early applications for our roles, as our recruitment process begins as soon as the role is advertised. If we successfully fill the position, this advert may close earlier than planned.
