Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Data Lead / Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Big Data technologies, and large-scale data pipeline development. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize scalable data processing solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support banking, Financial Crimes Compliance, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform and Big Data technologies.
- Build and maintain data processing solutions using BigQuery, DataProc, Airflow, Python, and Spark.
- Develop event-driven data pipelines using Kafka or Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub.
- Design and optimize SQL queries, database systems, and data models for performance and scalability.
- Work with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and distributed data processing frameworks.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and source code management practices.
- Collaborate with product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver data engineering solutions.
- Improve engineering practices through automation, system resilience, and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of technology solutions for Banking, Financial Crimes Compliance, and Anti-Money Laundering platforms.
- Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and established software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in Big Data and Analytics solutions.
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including:
- BigQuery
- Cloud DataProc
- Cloud Pub/Sub
- Apache Airflow
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, shell scripting, and Apache Spark.
- Experience with Hadoop and Hive.
- Hands-on experience building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines.
- Experience with event-processing technologies such as Kafka or Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, relational databases, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Jenkins, Git, GitHub, and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Financial Crimes Compliance, or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) projects.
- Experience with enterprise data engineering frameworks and Agile delivery environments.
- Ability to drive automation, improve system reliability, and deliver scalable technology solutions.
