Role Overview

An experienced Oracle AFCS (Accounting Financial Close and Subledger) Consultant to support a major Finance transformation programme. The position requires a specialist capable of working independently on complex AFCS configuration, data mapping, and solution design activities within a large-scale Oracle ERP implementation. The role spans the full project life cycle from analysis and design through to UAT, SIT, and production migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse files, data structures, and definitions, mapping these to the AFCS outbox data model and identifying gaps for resolution.
• Prepare end-to-end functional solution mapping documents and design documentation to address identified gaps across the architecture.
• Work with upstream and downstream systems to map data models across the wider solution architecture.
• Define security roles and responsibilities within AFCS, and prepare runbooks, user manuals, and training materials for business users.
• Support UAT, SIT, and production migration activities, coordinating with the offshore development team to track build progress.

Top 5 Skills

• Oracle AFCS expertise - 7-10 years of hands-on AFCS experience with at least 2 recent project implementations, including strong knowledge of AFCS configuration, data modelling, and outbox data mapping.
• Finance transformation & ERP - Proven experience working within large-scale Oracle ERP finance transformation programmes, with the ability to work independently on complex AFCS tasks.
• Data mapping & gap analysis - Demonstrated ability to analyse data structures, perform gap analysis, and produce functional solution mapping and design documentation across complex financial architectures.
• Upstream & downstream integration - Experience working across upstream and downstream system integrations to align data models and ensure end-to-end solution consistency.
• Testing, training & documentation - Experience supporting UAT and SIT activities, preparing runbooks and user manuals, and delivering training to business users within enterprise finance transformation environments.

Contract Details:

• Rate: £400 - £450 per day Inside IR35
• Location: Hybrid in Milton Keynes
• Duration: 12 Month Contract
