An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Multicultural Community Development Team Leader to lead a dedicated team delivering community engagement initiatives across Victorian Arabic-speaking communities.

This role offers the opportunity to combine your leadership experience, community networks and passion for health equity to make a meaningful difference. Reporting to the Community Engagement Coordinator, you'll lead a team of three Bilingual Engagement Officers while working closely with community leaders, local councils, healthcare providers and multicultural organisations to deliver culturally safe engagement programs.

About the role
  • Lead the delivery of community engagement initiatives across priority Local Government Areas.
  • Manage, coach and support a team of three Bilingual Engagement Officers.
  • Build and strengthen trusted relationships with Arabic-speaking communities, community leaders and multicultural organisations.
  • Develop partnerships with local councils, GPs, Primary Health Networks and community groups.
  • Coordinate community events, education sessions and culturally responsive health promotion activities.
  • Drive projects that increase awareness of breast screening and improve participation within culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Monitor outcomes and continuously improve engagement strategies.
About you
  • Fluency in Arabic (essential).
  • Strong cultural knowledge, lived experience and/or established connections within Arabic-speaking and Muslim communities.
  • Experience in community engagement, community development, health promotion or multicultural project coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising staff.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confidence presenting to community groups and facilitating engagement activities.
  • A current Victorian Driver Licence and willingness to travel across metropolitan Melbourne.
