Job Description

Ready to take the next step and run one of Fortitude Valley's most recognisable late-night venues? Retro's is looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead the team, drive performance and keep the good times rolling. Located in the heart of Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, Retro's delivers iconic nights soundtracked by the best of the '80s, '90s and 2000s. A favourite with locals and tourists alike, it's a fast-paced, high-energy venue built around great music, great people and memorable nights out. This opportunity would be perfect for a strong Assistant Venue Manager ready to step up, or an experienced Venue Manager who loves being hands on, leading from the floor and building a positive, high performing team culture.

What's on offer

$85,000-$95,000 + super Performance bonus of up to $44,000 per year, paid quarterly

  • Genuine career progression across Australian Venue Co.
  • Support from an experienced Area Manager and wider operations team
  • Access to training, leadership development and opportunities across our national portfolio
What we're looking for

You'll be a genuine people person, team player and driver of the business. You'll be comfortable taking ownership while remaining highly visible and involved in the day to day operation.

You'll bring:

  • Strong hospitality management experience, ideally within a busy bar, pub or late-night venue
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop a high-performing team
  • A strong presence on the floor during peak service periods, including late nights and weekends
  • Commercial thinking and the ability to generate revenue building ideas across all aspects of the business
  • Experience writing and controlling effective rosters and managing labour costs
  • Confidence with stocktakes and investigating stock loss and variances
  • Strong operational and financial understanding
  • A hands on, energetic leadership style with a genuine focus on people and culture
  • A current RMLV and Approved Manager licence, or the ability to obtain them

If you're ready to step up, take ownership and put your stamp on a high energy Fortitude Valley venue, we'd love to hear from you.
